By Nicholas Lo, Chief Business Officer, Bitbase
Today we launched Bitbase 2.0. Most of what has been said today is about the brand. I would like to add a view from my side of the company, based on the conversations I have with partners every week, and on what 2.0 changes in them.
What partners are really asking
In almost every partner conversation, the question underneath is the same: will this exchange still be here in a few years, and will it still behave the same way when the market turns? A new identity does not answer that question. Consistency does. Partners judge us by how we make decisions, and by whether those decisions hold over time.
What focus means in business terms
Our brand statement is MARKET FLOWS. WE FOCUS. In business terms, focus means choosing. It shapes which partnerships we take on, how we design incentives, and which opportunities we decline. I would rather build a smaller number of partnerships that last than many that fade after one campaign, and I would rather reward real trading activity than short-term volume.
What partners can expect from us
Partners can expect us to be clear about terms, consistent in how we apply them, and direct when something is not working. When we cannot do something, we will say so early. This sounds basic, but in a fast-moving market it is often what partners value most.
How I will measure 2.0
Not by how much attention the launch receives. I will look at two things: whether users find Bitbase easier and clearer to trade on, and whether the partners who start working with us this year are still working with us next year. Both take time to show, and both matter more than any launch-day number.
Markets will keep moving. My job is to make sure Bitbase is a partner that others can plan around.
