Bitget Reports $1.86 Trillion in Trading Volume for Q3 2026

Bitget reported $1.86 trillion in combined trading volume for the third quarter of 2026, as activity increased across cryptocurrency derivatives, spot trading and traditional financial products.

The exchange's Q3 Transparency Report recorded a 21.2% increase in combined monthly volume between July and September, supported by expanded cross-asset functionality and deeper liquidity.

Crypto derivatives volume reached $409.19 billion, up 31.5% during the quarter. Spot trading activity increased 65.7%, while contracts for difference (CFDs) generated $376.32 billion, a 39.7% rise. CFDs became Bitget's largest non-crypto trading category.

The figures reflect the exchange's continued expansion beyond digital assets through its Universal Exchange (UEX) model, which brings cryptocurrency and traditional financial instruments into a single trading environment.

Cross-asset trading and liquidity expansion

One of the quarter's major product developments was the launch of Bitget's Cross-Asset Unified Account (UTA).

The system brings more than 370 eligible assets, including over 100 tokenized U.S. stocks, into a shared margin framework. Eligible assets can be used as collateral across different trading products, with collateral valuation ratios reaching up to 95%.

The upgrade is intended to give users greater flexibility in allocating capital between markets. Bitget also extended its AI-powered GetAgent Playbook to tokenized U.S. equities, introduced institutional pricing upgrades and launched Cash Plus, a stablecoin product offering yield-generating functionality.

Independent research cited in the report also pointed to improvements in the exchange's liquidity. TokenInsight ranked Bitget first among nine exchanges for combined BTC and ETH futures depth within 0.05% of market price, measuring liquidity at $41.6 million.

CoinGecko also placed the exchange among the leading venues for Bitcoin and Ethereum spot liquidity.

In tokenized equities, CryptoRank's analysis found that Bitget's Reality recorded up to 58% lower simulated slippage on $50,000 orders than the next-lowest comparable venue.

DeFiLlama reported a median bid-ask spread of 0.83 basis points and the deepest top-of-book liquidity among the five markets it evaluated.

"We're seeing more traders move between crypto, stocks and traditional assets, and that's why we are building a Universal Exchange," said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. "Q3 showed strong growth, but it also reminded us that protecting our users must continue to remain our biggest priority as we expand."

Bitget details security measures following September incident

The report also addressed the September 24 security incident and the measures introduced in response. Bitget said user account balances remained unaffected and that it engaged Mandiant and SlowMist to support an independent investigation.

The exchange reported that it had replenished its Protection Fund to more than $300 million by September 30, ahead of its original commitment. Additional measures included introducing a circuit breaker mechanism, completing an independent SlowMist assessment and increasing its security budget.

Bitget also maintained a Proof of Reserves ratio above 110%, according to the report.

The security updates form part of the company's efforts to strengthen its infrastructure as trading activity expands across asset classes.

The Q3 figures show growth in both crypto and traditional financial products, while the new unified margin framework and liquidity initiatives reflect Bitget's push to connect those markets within its UEX model.
